Kiwi Hui 2009 - 7/8 May 2009 - First announcement
« on: March 04, 2009, 11:15:32 AM »
Calling all kiwi practitioners! The kiwi hui is a great opportunity to come together and discuss what is happening in the kiwi world at large and network with people that share a common goal in saving our precious national icon!
The 2009 National Kiwi Hui will take place on

Thursday 7th and Friday 8th of May, Lake Taupo Christian Camp, Turangi

Following on from our decision last year to alternate venues and topics between both islands, this year’s hui will be focused on North Island kiwi species, projects and issues, though some topics will of course be relevant to all species or projects.

Call for Topics and Speakers
We are now seeking ideas topics of particular interest to you – please e-mail these to Mere Davis at savethekiwitrust@bnz.co.nz. If you attended the hui last year in Christchurch we would also appreciate your opinion on what worked well and of course, what did not.

Meals, Accommodation and Transportation
As with previous years, meals, accommodation and, if required, transport to and from Taupo airport are provided at no expense to attendees. You will need to send through your flight information to us to ensure that you are included in transport options.

Accommodation is available for both the Wednesday and Thursday nights and a meal can be provided on the Wednesday night should you request it when registering. Tent sites are available if that is your first choice. You will be able to specify this on the registration form along with your dietary preferences, flight information, and transport requirements.

Bed linen is not provided by the venue so do not forget your pillow and sleeping bag! You are welcome to stay off site at your own cost, and still be included in the meals throughout the two days.

Afternoon tea on the Friday will be the last meal provided by the venue and all attendees will be required to vacate the venue on completion of the conference Friday afternoon.

For more information on the venue please go to www.ltcc.org.nz
