Lotek recently released the new LAT archival tag series (www.lotek.com/LAT). The LAT tags are available as reliable TDRs and miniaturized geolocation tags.

Available in a smaller size – a diameter of only 8mm for the LAT1500, LAT2500 and LAT2510.

The new reader and LAT Tag Talk allow the user to communicate directly to the tag through the gold electrical contacts. The user can program the tag to suit their needs using numerous logs and memory management options – making the most out of their deployment regime. The communication loops can also be used as a suture loop (attachment point).

The external thermistor has a three second response time – which allows for more accurate temperature measurements.

The tag will withstand and reliably measure depths down to 2000m.
The LAT2000 series measures light and is equipped to use the new Template Fit method to process it onboard for geolocation purposes. Template Fit builds upon the predecessor Threshold method and provides improved geolocation estimates along with daily error estimates.
