Wanted: Urban Auckland harrier sightings
« on: February 23, 2010, 06:50:13 AM »
Maria Galbraith is undertaking a project (courtesy of a RSNZ Awarded Teacher Fellowship) with the aim of identifying the distribution of Australasian harriers within urban Auckland.  To do this she needs your help.

She's looking for sightings of harriers over an urban area in Auckland any time throughout the year and would appreciate an email with as much info about the sighting as possible, include: date, time, weather conditions (sunny, overcast, rainy, windy), specific location, what the bird was doing, direction it came from or flew off in. All of this information is helpful and will be gratefully received.

Sightings can be sent to Maria at harrier HQ via this address: mgalbraith2@unitec.ac.nz and you can find more information about the project (including a definition of the urban area) at http://chasingharriers.blogspot.com/
