Where do tomtits and robins roost?
« on: March 11, 2010, 11:12:30 AM »
Colin Miskelly and I were discussing the vulnerability of robins and tomtits to predation by rats the other day and a question that arose was - where do they roost at night?  In branches, thickets, holes in trees ...?  Anyone got any facts or personal observations?

The other question may be Why are North Id tomtits becoming less susceptible to predation? They have undertaken a radical expansion in their range in the Auckland/Northland area in the past 20 years. Is this less susceptibility to predation of just them recolonising regenerating forest?
