tons of tui
« on: September 29, 2011, 08:45:21 AM »
I counted over 120 tui flying overhead this morning @ Boundary Stream while taking the dog for a walk down the road. I have never seen this many in one place before. Anyone else seen numbers like this? I know its a mainland island but I couldn't believe it. I double double checked that they were not starlings or anything else.

Never seen anything on that scale - the best being ~30 on Codfish Island (pre rat eradication) and they were chasing a long-tailed cuckoo
