Godwits for dinner?

This story on the news last night almost had me shouting at the tv. What does everyone else think?

This indeed is a NZ forum. So no replies sofar.

Of course you don't even start thinking about catching/hunting and eating a protected species that is under severe pressure in significant parts where it is distributed during its lifecycle. If hunting and eating Godwits would be made sustainable it would be different. But unfortunately farming Godwits might be a bit more difficult then farming Weka or Takahe.

Till that time I suggest for this person to buy a good cook book with chicken-receipes
