the story in the Dom Post this morning was originally about a 'mystery block of cheese'

(!) that had washed up on Wellington's South Coast, with the hilarious quote that 'no cheese boats had passed Wellington recently'. However, it appears that the reporter has done a bit more homework, and filed this story
http://www.stuff.co.nz/4700787a11.htmlIt's still not clear what the object is, but DOC staff had a 'mystery' object wash up at Himatangi Beach last week, which it appears is a rotten chunk of sperm whale - could the two Unidentified Smelly Objects be related!?
